Join Michelle Galletta (Owner & Creative Director of Kiriki Press) in this 2 hour workshop, where you'll learn the embroidery, sewing & appliqué basics needed to complete a spooky pocket-sized felt cat doll. These wee cats are waiting for you to stitch them up so they can show off their costumes on Halloween night!
Participants can choose from three different designs:
- Witch Cat, with a pointy hat and striped stockings
- Pumpkin Cat, dressed like a jack-o-lantern and wearing the cutest pumpkin beanie
- Ghost Cat, the quickest of the three patterns but absolutely adorable when it pops out of its removable "bedsheet"
All components are pre-cut, making this a fun project for seasoned stitchers or total beginners alike. The finished dolls are approximately 5" tall.
Includes 1 Halloween Cat Doll Kit of your choice:

- needle

Instructor:
OCADU printmaking grad Michelle Galletta wanted to make her niece an embroidered doll but couldn't find a pattern anywhere. A week after attempting her very first stitch, she was left with a set of wonky owl dolls and a deep appreciation for the craft. In time, this newfound love of embroidery joined forces with screen printing, and Kiriki Press was launched in 2013 with seven doll patterns. The collection has expanded to include over 30 doll kits, as well as hoop art kits, tools and a small brick & mortar shop in Toronto's Roncesvalles neighbourhood. Kiriki Press kits are available in over 500 stores worldwide and known for their adorable designs, top quality materials and user friendly instructions.

Please note that all our facilitators carefully prepare in advance for each event, whether it’s gathering materials, setting up special activities, or creating a memorable experience. For this reason, once purchased, tickets are non-refundable.
If your plans change, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend up to 24 hours before the event. Just call us at (647) 341-0394 or send an email to oracle@curiosasociety.com with the new participant’s name, phone number, and email address, and we’ll take care of the rest.
